There are several possibilities, from a website that cannot be accessed. Here we summarize some analyzes for the problem of failing to access the website after it is uploaded.
File not uploaded to public_html directory
All website files and folders must be under the public_html directory (or fully /home/username/public_html). Outside of that directory, website files will not be able to be displayed. Make sure you have entered the public_html directory before uploading the file.
If using FTP, the first time after your FTP software is connected to the web hosting server, the directory is /home/username/. You need to click on the public_html folder first to be able to go to /home/username/public_html.
For those who want to upload web files for addon domains or subdomains, please upload them to the root directory used.
No index files
The first file name to appear as the front page must be index.* (index.htm, index.html, or index.php). Without the index file, the front page of your website will not appear.
Wrong index file name writing
Still related to point 2 above, it could be that you already have an index. However, the naming is wrong (contains capital letters). The index file name must be in lowercase. Example of a correct filename : index.html / index.htm not Index.html / index.HTM
The software used for web design does not meet the requirements
Although it doesn't always happen, sometimes when you create a website with Microsoft Publisher, the output of the html file from the software is not standard. The size tends to swell, or use non-standard html tags (code).
This causes your website to not appear. The solution is to use software that is intended for website creation such as Macromedia / Adobe Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage.
