What is the Difference between Sub-Domain, Parked Domain and Add-on Domain?

Those of you who are familiar with the digital world and websites must have often heard of domains. However, do you know about Sub-Domains, Parked Domains and Add-on Domains? Here's the explanation.

Sub-Domain

For example, the name of your website is tokomiky.com

Then you install a forum script and place it in a directory called “/home/tokomiky/public_html/forum/” and accessed through the address “http://www.tokomiky.com/forum/”.

You can change the address “http://www.tokomiky.com/forum/” into a sub-domain “http://forum.tokomiky.com” with the Sub-Domain feature of Mikyhost.com.

Please enter cPanel at tokomiky.com/cpanel – click the “Sub-domain” menu and add the sub-domain “forum.tokomiky.com” and set the directory path to “/public_html/forum”.

Parked Domain

Suppose you have several domains: tokomiky.com, tokomiky.net, and tokomiky.biz.

tokomiky.com is the main domain of your website and you want to add tokomiky.net and tokomiky.biz so that when someone types in either tokomiky.com, tokomiky.net or tokomiky.biz they will go to the same page on your website. You can do this with Mikyhost.com's Parked Domains tool.

You can log in to your cPanel at tokomiky.com/cpanel – click on the “Parked Domain” menu and add the domains tokomiky.net and tokomiky.biz there.

Add-On Domains

Suppose you have two different selling websites, for example: tokomiky.com and tokomainan.com

In order to save on hosting costs, you can put the two websites on the same hosting account. You can do this with the Add-On Domains feature on Mikyhost.com.

You can enter cPanel at tokomiky.com/cpanel – click on the “Add-on Domain” menu and add the tokomainan.com domain as a sub-directory of the tokomiky.com domain, for example “tokomiky.com/tokomainan”. Upload the tokomain.com website files in the “/tokomainan” sub-directory.

Websites hosted as addon domains will share storage resources with the main website hosted on the same account.

That's a brief explanation of the differences between Sub-Domains, Parked Domains and Add-on Domains. One thing that is no less important, don't forget to buy a trusted domain for the smooth running of your site.
