What is FTP Client?

FTP Client is a computer service that will request data transfer to the FTP Server. Keep in mind that the file transfer process from the server to the computer or vice versa can occur when the FTP Client is connected to the FTP Server. Most FTP clients will by default be set to use a passive connection which is considered more secure. With a passive connection, the FTP Client will make a request to the server to make a connection, so all connections that are initiated from outside will be automatically blocked.

There are several FTP Client applications that can be used according to your computer's operating system, such as FileZilla Client, Cyberduck, or gFTP.

FTP is very useful to make it easier for you to access files on the server via a computer.
