Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a technique that must be mastered (and applied) as a website owner to get a good ranking in search engines. It could also be in full its meaning is a series of processes that are carried out systematically aimed at increasing the volume and quality of traffic visits through search engines to certain websites by utilizing the working mechanism or search engine algorithm.

The goal of SEO is to place a website in the top position, or at least the first page of search results based on certain targeted keywords. Logically, websites that occupy the top positions in search results have a greater chance of getting visitors.

  • According to Rand Fishkin, SEO is a combination of tactics and strategies that include but are not limited to information optimization, ease of use, focus on content quality, visitor targeting, design, website development, keyword research, keyword placement, link building, social media and all kinds of online and offline marketing elements that support the goal of receiving more traffic or visitors from search engines.
  • According to Neil Patel (easier to understand) SEO is an art to understand search engines and use that knowledge to make a site rank higher and continue to improve in search engines (bing, google, yahoo, etc.)
