What is SSL?

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is an Internet standard for securing connections between website servers and client browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.). All data that passes through the https link that is secured by SSL will be encrypted (data scrambled) so that it is safe from hackers.

Types of SSL

There are 3 types of SSL certificates:

  1. Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificate (Green Bar)
  2. Organization Validation (OV) SSL Certificate
  3. Domain Validation (DV) SSL Certificate

Reason to Use SSL Certificates

There are several reasons why you should use SSL Certificates including:

  • Providing security of data and information on websites and applications
  • Increase visitor confidence in business websites
  • Increase sales and traffic to your website
  • Improve the security of transactions on the Business Website
  • Can improve SEO by getting a higher position in search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.
